Finding ways to get involved with the community and participate in charitable events is frequently practiced among this organization.
One of the main charities that The Carroll Companies supports is Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF was founded in 1970 by parents of children with juvenile diabetes. It is the leading charitable organization and advocate of juvenile, or type 1, diabetes research worldwide. Currently, 3 million people in the US live with type one diabetes.
With consistent involvement for over a decade, it has become a tradition for all employees, family, and friends of The Carroll Companies to participate in the fundraising for JDRF and to join together for the annual ‘Walk for The Cure’ event.
In addition to fundraising efforts, The Carroll Companies implemented a program several years ago called “Building an End to Diabetes.” The ‘JDRF House’ is totally constructed from donations of cash, land, materials, and labor. This is a program that The Carroll Companies have continued each year and will for years to come. The organization is currently working toward packaging this program so that other builders across the US can participate.
With the assistance of business associates, The Carroll Companies built, sold and donated approximately $634,000 over the past 7 years, the proceeds from the sale of new homes to diabetes research.
